I'm Not Dead

I thought I'd jump on here really quick to let you know I'm not laying in a ditch somewhere. I'm not - I'm just trying to figure things out and figure out why I can't seem to string 2 weeks of success together (other than being lazy).

Science is easy in the case of weight loss. Less food, more movement. Easy. It's the mental shit that trips me up. Once "I Don't Care" gets you in it's grips it's easy to feel powerless (which is a fabulous excuse to just do whatever the hell you want - which, honestly, is what we all really want to do, rather than restricting ourselves).

So I've been having lose 3 pound weeks followed by gain 2 pound weeks.

It's going to be a LONG haul but I will figure it out.

  1. I know exactly how you feel - been in the same place myself for the past couple of weeks. I've got to show my mind who's boss - and get off my ass again!!

  3. Is it horrible that I think of this whenever someone says, "I'm not dead"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGFXGwHsD_A

Anyway. I know you're struggling, and I wish I could do something to help. I wish you'd care every day. And be kind to yourself.

  4. Of course it is what we all want to do, when our brains are in the crap. When we get past it, that want goes away or at least lessens to the point that we can have months and years of successes.

    The long term stuff.

    It can be done.

  5. Right there with you! I lose a good 10-15 pounds and then go crazy with desserts and gain back 15-20! Now I'm at my biggest wieght and about to go back to school and work. It's really hitting me how far I've let myself go. But I can't seem to get the motivation to be really passionate about it again, maybe because I know I always gain more back anyway.... keep trying!!

  6. When you start a habit, it takes a while to get used to it. According to research, it takes 21 days to form a habit. Make it through those initial 21 days, and it’ll be a lot easier from then on. Good luck, Colleen!

  7. I came across your blog when i was searching for proof that week 5 day 3 on c25k was a misprint. jog for 20 minutes? i couldnt jog for 10 seconds a year ago. but i've come this far and have no proof that it's not legit....seems crazy but i guess i'll get up in the morning and do it. i have been on a mission to lose about 150 lbs for 4 years now. i have lost about 130 now and am doing things that i never would have dreamed were possible. i hope you are doing well on your journey! tara howard tarah150@gmail.com
